Our Story
In the aftermath of Daniel’s final overdose, he was placed under a 72-hour psychiatric hold according to California’s 5150 law, which ultimately gave birth to the HealingUS Model of Care.
Frustrated with the traditional system’s failure to support him, Daniel and his mother, Lynn, worked tirelessly to create a long term continuum of care that would be financially accessible to all and include integrated mental health therapies addressing the root causes of an individuals well-being.
Regarded by his colleagues as “The Recovery Gandhi,” Daniel has effectively revolutionized the mental health and substance abuse treatment
